Saburouta, Kanazawa, Japan

Located just across the Kanazawa Central Market, this restaurant serves affordable and very fresh seafood dishes. This place can get pretty busy at lunch time but we arrived a bit after lunch and was able to avoid the lunch time crowd. The food they served was truly delicious, fresh and so satisfying. Although it is a bit out of the way but worth the trip!

The friendly owners greeted us as we stepped inside this restaurant. When they learned we are from Australia they whispered something among themselves, came back to us smiling even with the little English they know to strike up a conversation with us. The chef even went out of his way to greet us. They seemed very happy to have us and when we were leaving, the lady owner escorted us to the door and even bowed at us. I'm impressed by how Japanese people are very polite and this character has made them admired by so many.
