Tonkatsu-Maisen, Shibuya Hikarie

 I wasn't in the mood to try anything fried this evening yet somehow I found myself following  my tonkatsu-loving husband heading towards Tonkatsu-Maisen. I was probably too tired and hungry to even think where to eat.
 According to him many foodies seem to agree that this place serves the most outstanding, 
melts in your mouth tonkatsu. 

 I must confess as soon as I took one bite (of my husband's portion), I regretted not ordering one for myself. 

The pork was really tender and juicy and the panko breadcrumbs was crispy and light. 
I swear the next time I visit Tokyo, I have to go back and order this.

The dishes my son and I had were really good too but the tonkatsu clearly was my favourite.

 I also love the slimy pickled seaweed that came with the Chamiton Pork Cutlet with Egg Set. 

I will definitely be back again. 

  

The delicious special sauce at your table.

Hubby's Japanese meal will never be complete without a bottle of (hot) sake.
