We celebrated Father's Day's at Quoi Dining, the latest addition
to The Hills restaurant scene. This boutique restaurant is set on a
beautiful lakeside landscape in North West Sydney. It's a small, cosy and intimate restaurant perfect for romantic dinners or special occasions.
The main reason for us choosing this restaurant was because we wanted to try and experience Chef Josh Mason's dishes. He may only be 23 yrs old but with a list of awards under his
name and having worked at Atelier Crenn, a Two Michelin Star Restaurant in San Francisco under Dominique Crenn (honoured as The Best Female Chef In The World 2016) this amazing young chef is surely one to
watch.
We wanted to try the Tasting Menu (A$100) but only the Three Course Father's Day Special Menu (A$85) plus a list of appetisers were being offered. The dishes were amazing and the quality was top notch. It was by far the best dishes I've had in The Hills. Where the food excelled the service was a bit of a let down. It was friendly but disorganised and needs improvement. We did not expect less for the price that we paid.
Warm Bread with Salted Butter
Northern French Snail Ragout (served with warm bread, not in photo)
Wow, what a delicious appetiser! The snails were soft and tender and the sweet acidic flavour of the ragout went so well with the snails.
Josh Mason's signature dish Picked Blue Swimmer Crab, Roasted Garlic Beurre Blanc and Radishes
It looked too pretty to eat. Yet another amazing dish.
Steak Tartar, Cured Egg Yolk, Eschallot
Truffled Mash
It's light and fluffy with sublte truffle flavour.
Pork Belly, Caramelised Witlof and Onion Jus
Lamb with Roasted Black Garlic Puree and Cereliac
Black Angus, Eye Fillet with Mushroom, Pomme Puree, Rediccio and Jus
Passion Fruit, Coconut and Citrus
Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut and Honeycomb
White Winter, Champagne and Caramel
The perfect combination of flavours. Creamy white chocolate bits, vanilla ice cream, caramel and matcha all went so well together.
